If you are a fan of Legion at all, you have probably heard the news that John Landgraf, CEO of FX Networks and FX Productions, announced Monday that Legion’s upcoming third season will be its final one. According to Landgraf, Noah Hawley had “conceived of Legion as a three-season show.” Thus this will be the last season to end the story for David Haller.
Hawley went on to expand on his views on how story should be handled, explaining that “endings are what give stories meaning.” Leaving much anticipation for the upcoming finale season for sure.
We have also learned recently that David’s parents have been cast in the upcoming season. Harry Lloyd will play Professor X and David’s father while Stephanie Corneliussen will play the mother, Gabrielle.
Legion has quickly escalated to one of the best TV shows on right now and it will be sad to see it go, but the story should be well worth it.
Season two left the audience with quite a surprising turn of events (though I will leave out those details to reduce any spoilers for those looking to watch the show), making the anticipation of this final season all the greater.
Legion Season 3 will premiere in the summer on FX.
